If you own Japanese knives, you acknowledge their incredible craftsmanship and quality, including sharpness. But then you also have to acknowledge that Japanese knives usually require significant care to keep beautiful, rust-free and sharp.
We highly recommend Camellia oil made by Yoshihiro–a pure Tsubaki Oil with “rust eraser” that keeps your knifes beautiful and clean.
Camellia Oil for Japanese Knives
Japanese knives, while easily considered to be the sharpest, also come with a necessary course of care. Of those steps, applying oil and ridding the knife of intermittent rust stains is first and foremost.
Originally used in Japan as a cooking oil and for beauty purposes. Tsubaki Oil (Camellia oil–tea seed oil) is a must have for high carbon steel knives. Apply a few drops after use to prevent rust, corrosion and discoloration. It will also help shine and condition your knives. The Rust Eraser will help remove rust and stains on your knife. Follow the grain of the knife, gently moving the eraser back and forth. Only erase on rust/stain spots.
Perfect for our Yoshihiro Nakiri Knife. A requirement, actually.
